Bad to the Bone

Despite the title of this blog post, do not be confused with the popular rock song from the 1980s. Some of the country's worst serial killers were in fact "bad to the bone." Not in the cool heartbreaker rocker way in the song, but in the dark, gruesome sense. Richard Trenton Chase, Henry Lee Lucas, and Jeffrey Dahmer. Three men on the list of the 10 Most Notorious Serial Killers of All Time. They are your above average serial killers, who went over the top to make it on "the list". Maybe you have heard of these serial killers or maybe you have not, either way, you are going to read about them today.

Richard Trenton Chase. More like Richard Trenton CRAZY. This serial killer is known as "The Vampire of Sacramento." (What a name). He was given this name because of how he killed his victims. He would eat their body parts and drink their blood, like a vampire would. Richard Trenton Chase started off by killing animals and then eating them raw. Because of this, he was taken to a mental asylum. After a while, he was released but his crimes continued. This time not with animals. But with humans instead. It was found that he would even blend the dead corpses with soda to make a "milkshake" (Ew. No more milkshakes for me). He was later caught but committed suicide before his execution date.

Then there's Henry Lee Lucas. He best known for killing hundreds of people. Only three murders could be proven though, one of which was his own mother. (A real mama's boy huh? NOT). From his confessions he killed about 350-600 people. Since there was no evidence, he was let out of the overcrowded jail. Upon his release, Lucas became friends with Ottis Toole. They then committed at least 108 murders together. Henry Lee Lucas was caught and brought to prison where he died.

Last but definitely not least, the most notorious serial killer of all, is Jeffrey Dahmer. 17 victims, 15 consecutive life sentences, and all in 13 years. Oh ho no, Dahmer did not just kill his victims, he did much more than that. All of his victims were men and boys, and he usually targeted African American gays. He would lure them to his place, drug them, then strangle them to death. He would engage in sex acts with the corpses before disposing of them. It was also discovered that he was doing a horrific sexual act of drilling into the heads and skulls of the victims who were still alive. Dahmer often took pictures of the murder process so he could "relive" the experience later. He was arrested and beaten by an inmate in jail.

These are only three examples of some of the most inhumane serial killers who ever lived. So many more are just like these or maybe even worse. The thought of it is just chilling. Serial killers come in all shapes and sizes, all looking to kill for there own motives. They are truly bad to the bone.
